Hello, adventurers! I'm thrilled to bring you the latest news on my project as I roll out Version 2.5. It's been a journey full of exploration, creation, and of course, overcoming challenges. Here's everything new and improved:
New Locations and Updates
- Dark Forest: The mysterious and eerie Dark Forest has been brought to life! Prepare to explore its small but shadowy depths.
- Abandoned Town: Nestled to the north of the Dark Forest, this forsaken settlement is taking shape, though it remains unfinished.
- Abandoned House: Deep within the Dark Forest lies this ominous structure, still a work in progress.
- Ruins of the Dark Forest: To the south, you'll find these ancient remnants, now partially complete. (Still adding things)
- Ruins Depths: A secret mini-boss now awaits brave souls in the depths. But hush—no spoilers here! (Very tough!)
- Castle Town: Situated below the Castle, this thriving area is now ready for players to explore. (Still adding things)
- Castle: The exterior of this regal structure is complete, though the inner halls remain inaccessible for now. (Still adding things)
- Ocean Map: The vast and empty ocean is ready for future adventures. What secrets might it hold? (Still adding things)
System Updates and Improvements
- Engine Upgrade: I've updated the game engine from RPG Maker MV to RPG Maker MZ. This brings improved performance, somewhat better visuals, and smoother gameplay. However, due to this upgrade, Linux support is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
- Bug Fixes: Squashed several pesky bugs in my coding for events for a smoother experience.
- Rock Cave Overhaul: Addressed various issues and revamped this area for better exploration and gameplay.
- Optimization Achievement: By fixing a major coding flaw in the Rock Cave, I eliminated the need for a duplicate game world (World 2). This significant improvement saves considerable development time and storage space. (Files ranged from 100 MB to 300 MB and now 70 MB to 207 MB!) Please Note: This only applied to the overworld you see so far. I have not made the dark version yet, so a second world is still to come!
Audio and Visual Enhancements
- Music Overhaul: The soundtrack has been completely revamped to set the mood for every location. (Still adding things)
- Sound Updates: Tweaked audio levels to save our ears and reduce unwanted noise.
- Main Character and Dragon Boss: Both have received updated designs for a fresh look.
New Features
- Character Select System: Choose your hero at the start of the game! This feature took a lot of effort but is finally ready.
- Password System: Supporters can access exclusive content through a password system integrated into character selection.
- Menu Screen Update: A sleek and improved menu design for better navigation.
Version 2.5 represents a significant leap forward from my previous Version 1.5, with so much more for you to explore and enjoy. Thank you for your continued support and patience as I shape this world. Stay tuned for more updates—I'm just getting started!
